Judy (Lyons) Kemper

Hello everyone. I can't believe it has been almost 40 years since we graduated. I do believe it because I got married 10 days after we graduated. Yes, I am still married. My husband, Paul, and I have 4 children and 10 grandchildren. We have both retired within the last 3 years and now live in Topaz, California. For those interested it is near the California/Nevada border on your way to Tahoe. We live 300 feet from Topaz Lake.

Our oldest daughter now lives in Eagle Point, Oregon, with 4 of our grandkids. Our other 3 children live in Southern California with the other 6 grandchildren. Our oldest is Kelli, (38), her husband Ben, daughter Kassidy (11), son Jacob (10), son Jayson (7) and daughter Kaylee Rose (6). Kerri (36) is next, her husband Mike, and their son Justin (10). Our son Jeff (35) is next with his wife, Nikki, and their sons Parker (6) and Conner (3) and their daughter McKenna (1). Our youngest daughter is Katie (28) and her fiancee Mike, their daughter Abby (1) and her son Kaleb (7).

I couldn't handle retirement so I am now working. I have kept in touch with Diane (Scott) Price. But since moving and having everything in storage I have lost contact with Colleen Hayes Elliott and Sheri Bastianelle.

I am looking forward to coming down to the reunion, so keep me informed. It is an 8 hour drive so give me a couple of weeks notice. It will be great to see everyone.

What's your job? Retired in 2005. Decided I needed to get out of the house. I work part-time now at Big 5.
Other fields you've worked in? Owned nail salon for ten years. Then worked in banking for 15 years.
How did you end up in your current field? Luck. Boss gave me what I wanted. No nights, no weekends, and I don't work when it snows.

Hobbies/Passions/Obsessions/Etc., Etc., Etc.

Tell us a bit about the things you love to do!
After retiring, I crocheted about ten afghans, so I decided I needed a part-time job. I still crochet, but since my husband had a heart attack, I'm taking care of him. I try to come to southern California at least two time a year to see my grandchildren.
