Becky (Beamer) WittThanks, Organizational Triumvirate, for your creation! Where to start? I moved to Santa Barbara to attend UCSB after high school, and am still here. I met my husband, Keith Witt (Royal Oak Class of '68), towards the end of college. We've been together for 34 years now. We have two wonderful children, Ethan: 22, and Zoe: 19. Who am I? Decades ago (!) Keith asked me what interested me and what I thought about most. I answered, "Food, clothes, and raising my consciousness." That still sounds pretty good, but I'd alter it a bit. Consciousness and spirituality and personal growth are definitely the top of my list and always will be. I really love reading and studying and learning about things. Food is good. I have a very particular body that demands healthy food, so in defense I have learned to make things tasty too. One of my favorite classes of all time was a cooking class at the local city college culinary institute—what a blast! Clothes, well I join most women in enjoying them, but I can't say they are at the top of the list. I would replace them with nature and gardening. Because being in nature is so important to me we have begun to look for a small piece of land somewhere other than Santa Barbara. My vocation? Still somewhat of a mystery. I was a stay-at-home-mom for the child-rearing years, and have always done the bookkeeping for my husband's business as well as maintaining everything. I produce a line of flower remedies, but feel that my full service path will emerge in the coming years. This empty nest time is a period of transition on so many levels. My husband Keith is a clinical psychologist in private practice and an author. We are enjoying this period of re-bonding now that the kids are mostly gone. I like him! I've come to all the reunions and thoroughly enjoyed them. I always learn so much from talking to people and seeing how we develop. I'm looking forward to the next one! Love to you all, Becky (Beamer) Witt ![]() Becky, Keith, Zoe, Ethan -- 2007 ![]() Becky's brother, Dave (CHS '70) and Becky -- Thanksgiving 2007 |
